XAUTicker showed spot gold ending the 1 October session at $4,165.80 per troy ounce, down $15.69, or 0.38%, after trading between $4,150.33 and $4,192.00. The US-hours tone resolved softer rather than higher: USAGOLD said rising yields capped gold near $4,167, while GoldSilver said gold steadied near $4,180 after a GDP upgrade undercut an inflation miss. Kitco framed the cross-current as cooler US inflation data countering higher Treasury yields. Silver also softened, with XAUTicker showing spot silver at $60.63, down 0.84%.

Late price action

By the XAUTicker feed, gold finished $15.69 below the previous close of $4,181.49, after the day’s $4,150.33-to-$4,192.00 range left the final feed price closer to the low than the high. That matched a set of late headlines clustered around the same area: USAGOLD said rising yields capped gold near $4,167, GoldSilver said gold steadied near $4,180, and Kitco cited gold at $4,158/oz after an ISM Manufacturing PMI dip to 54.5.

Inflation relief met yields

Kitco said gold gained as cooler US inflation data countered higher Treasury yields, and Emirates 24|7 used a similar frame, saying softer US inflation offset pressure from rising Treasury yields. NewsNation reported that August inflation rose less than expected in the PCE report. FXEmpire said softer PCE cut Fed hike bets, while BusinessLine said gold inched higher as softer US inflation dimmed October Fed hike bets. On the other side, GoldSilver said a GDP upgrade undercut the inflation miss, and FXStreet cited UOB saying gold’s upside was capped by real yields.

US data and Fed watch

Kitco said gold was holding steady despite potential headwinds from a solid US labor market. Another Kitco headline tied a $4,158/oz gold price to ISM Manufacturing PMI dipping to 54.5 while prices shot higher. TradingView’s headline grouped PCE, GDP and the Fed with the TVC:DXY dollar index, while المتداول العربي reported that Federal Reserve member Kashkari opened the door to a new interest-rate hike. Together, the headlines kept macro data, yields and Fed repricing at the centre of the session narrative.

Levels in forecast headlines

Forecast headlines were scattered across support and resistance. TradingNEWS said XAU/USD at $4,182 held a $4,138 floor as 5.34% yields capped a rebound, while also carrying a $4,450 target. Traders Union put $4,060 support in focus as XAU stayed stable. CryptoRank said Morgan Stanley saw a $4,000 floor after a selloff. On the risk side, FXEmpire said high yields raised the risk of a deeper correction, FXStreet cited potential continuation toward 4,066, and investingLive said the bounce still lacked conviction below $4,200 as Treasury yields threatened fresh highs.

What to watch

  • TradingNEWS, Traders Union and CryptoRank support markers: $4,138, $4,060 and $4,000.
  • Treasury and real yields after Kitco, USAGOLD, FXStreet and FXEmpire all flagged yield pressure.
  • TradingView, Kitco and المتداول العربي’s Fed/data thread: PCE, GDP, labor data and Kashkari.
  • Silver follow-through after XAUTicker’s 0.84% drop and USAGOLD’s physical-demand headline.
