Where this price comes from
Every price on this site is read from XAUTicker, a live gold and silver ticker that publishes its pricing methodology in full — including how it converts the international spot price into local retail rates, and what it adds for duty, tax and market premium.
We do not calculate or adjust prices ourselves, and we never substitute an estimate when the feed is unavailable. If the feed cannot be reached, this page says so and shows no figure.
When the market trades
Spot gold trades continuously from Sunday 22:00 UTC to Friday 21:00 UTC, with a one-hour settlement break each weekday at 21:00 UTC. Outside those hours the last price is Friday’s close and will not move — that is a closed market, not a broken feed, and this site labels the two differently.
Reading the numbers
- Spot
- The price for immediate delivery of one troy ounce of gold, in US dollars. It is the benchmark almost every other gold price is derived from.
- Session range
- The low and high so far in the current trading session. There is no range when the market is closed.
- Previous close
- Where the price finished the last completed session — the baseline the change figure is measured against.
- Gold / silver ratio
- How many ounces of silver one ounce of gold buys. Traders watch it as a rough gauge of how the two metals are moving relative to each other.
