Spot silver also rose, reaching $65.86 per troy ounce, up 4.39%, while the gold/silver ratio stood at 68.3. Treasury headlines frame the rally

MarketWatch reported that stocks, bonds and gold rallied after the Treasury indicated it would buy more government bonds to stop yields from surging. investingLive described a surprise US Treasury announcement to support longer-dated securities, while TheStreet said gold and Bitcoin rallied after an unexpected bond-market move. Barchart.com said the dollar slumped and gold rallied as Treasury buybacks ramped up. KITCO also put the move in the context of a weaker dollar and easing bond yields, and RichTV.io framed the wider market as rallying as Treasury yields fell.

Fed minutes stayed in focus

Fed coverage remained central to the day’s narrative, though the headlines did not say the minutes had already changed the market’s direction. FXStreet said the Fed minutes were set to provide clues on a divisive last FOMC meeting. Bitcoin World said the minutes may reveal the depth of a hawkish split on the rate path, while Coinpedia asked what to expect from the FOMC minutes. Marketplace also highlighted the minutes as something to watch. TradingNEWS framed XAU/USD as bouncing into the Fed minutes.

Demand and haven stories add context

Beyond rates and the dollar, Traders Union said gold rose more than 2% as safe-haven demand and central bank buying drove gains. FXStreet said Bitcoin and gold extended gains despite escalating Middle East tensions. BusinessLine, citing the World Gold Council in its headline, said India’s gold demand recovery was likely to strengthen ahead of the festive season. KITCO separately reported that 33% of UK respondents regretted missing out on gold’s 128% price rally, citing The Royal Mint.

Mining shares moved unevenly

Equity headlines showed the metal rally spilling into mining shares, but not uniformly. TipRanks said Royal Gold surged as its dividend and cash flow sparked a rally, and said Centerra Gold surged as the metal rally ignited the stock. The same publisher said Newmont suddenly stalled after a powerful gold rally and that Gold Fields’ hot rally hit a sudden brake. Kalkine Media kept Newmont, Agnico Eagle and Alamos Gold in focus as gold hit record highs, while kalkine.ca said Aya Gold & Silver remained under pressure as silver volatility tested confidence.

What to watch

  • Fed minutes language on the divided rate path flagged by FXStreet and Bitcoin World.
  • Treasury buyback signals after MarketWatch and Barchart tied them to lower yields.
  • Dollar and yield moves, which KITCO and Barchart linked to gold’s rebound.
  • India demand headlines after BusinessLine cited a World Gold Council festive-season recovery view.
